Conversation with Giles P. Croft
My guest today is Giles P Croft, a former NHS (National Health Service, UK) surgeon who stepped aside from clinical practice for a decade to explore a number of career paths, including health informatics, cycling journalism, public speaking and high street retail with his wife.
He is now back in the healing profession, tackling the root cause of chronic mental stress and its many harmful effects by helping clients reconnect to their natural, inbuilt state of health and happiness, without the need for prescriptions, coping strategies, or time consuming self-care practices. He works and lives in the Brecon Beacons National Park, Wales, with his wife and 6 year old daughter.
We talked a bit about Giles’ wonderful monthly YouTube stream, Wellbeing Wednesdays, from his wife’s wool/yarn store. We also had an interesting, valuable conversation about the different ways of approaching health & wellness. Is it a strict approach that only looks at physical & maybe mental health or, as we agreed, do we widen our vision/imagination to use the World Health Organization’s 1948 definition of health:
“Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”
Listen in to our very interesting and enlightening conversation about this and other ways of looking at and living life. Pertinent links to Giles’ program, website, and social media contacts are below:

-
– What gets in the way of health & wellbeing?
-
– The incredible healing power of our bodies… *and* our minds
-
– The psychological immune system nobody told us about
-
– Our greatest super-power
-
– Finding wellbeing in the present moment
-
– Why we all like different stuff, and how completely life-changing that is
-
– A bit of evolutionary neuro-biology
-
– Different experiences of health
