Are They Connected?

  • According to the National Institute on Aging (NIA), a part of the US Government’s National Institutes of Health (NIH), they are connected.

  • There are numerous studies in PubMed showing that people who have hearing loss are more likely to develop dementia of any kind than those who have no hearing impairment.

  • People with hearing loss who don’t get some kind of “intervention” such as a hearing aid or implant tend to have more brain shrinkage.

  • Learn more about the causes of hearing loss, how to get your hearing tested, deal with hearing loss, and  communicate with people who have a hearing loss.
