This is a flexible diet that gives you 4 “food components” from which you pick low-saturated fat / low-cholesterol foods
This is not a weight loss diet – it is for lowering cholesterol
If your cholesterol is very high you can combine this with a lower level of statin therapy
The original diet is plant-based but there are variations that allow for small amounts of lean meats and dairy products
I hadn’t heard of this diet before but it does look like it would be another good way to bring your cholesterol down
